Access NDC/SDC/MDC Resources

The NIC VPN Service provides secure remote access to servers and websites hosted in NIC Data Centres (NDCs). Employees from NIC, Central and State Government Departments, Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), and Autonomous Bodies under the Central or State Governments who are authorized for administration, updation, or management of servers or sites hosted in NIC DCs are eligible to use this service. It is intended for users involved in Network, Server, Mail, Web, or Database Administration activities. Eligible users can register online and must forward their application through their respective Reporting Officer (RO)/Head of Department (HOD)/Nodal Officers (NO) and the concerned NIC Coordinator. Approved users are provided with a client-based VPN connection for secure server management.

Access Cloud Services

A VPN connection is also provided to authorized cloud users for the administration and management of virtual machine (VM) servers on cloud and the cloud dashboard. Such users do not need to register separately for VPN access. The Cloud Team will generate the VPN requirement based on the details provided in the Cloud Sign-Up Form.

Acess to E-Governance Applications

NIC VPN Service is provided to projects where users from NIC, Central and State Government Departments, Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), and Autonomous Bodies under the Central or State Governments need secure access to Intranet applications hosted in NIC Data Centres (NDCs). Depending on the project’s requirements, either a client-based or clientless VPN connection is provided. Departments seeking to use the NIC VPN service for secure access can send their requirements through the NIC Coordinator or VPN Support Team. After reviewing the requirement, feasibility, and conducting a Proof of Concept (PoC), a proposal will be submitted by the VPN Support Team.
